Move over instant noodles – Here are some one-pot recipes to cheer up the bachelor’s plate!

Instant noodles have been the staple food that many people, especially bachelors living alone, have depended on for years! However, this food isn’t the healthiest and is very boring to have on a regular basis too. If you are a bachelor who is fed up with having the same bowl of boiled noodles every day, we have some very easy and innovative one-pot recipe ideas for you. Take a look and light up your dinner time.

  • One-pot chicken biryani:

    Chicken biryani sounds like a lot of work, but the easy-one pot ones get done in the most effortless way. Just get a pack of biryani masala from the supermarket and mix it with half a cup of fresh yoghurt. Coat some boneless chicken generously with this mixture and set aside for an hour. Heat some oil insurance a pressure cooker and fry the chicken with the marinade for five minutes. Add some raw rice, adequate water and close the pressure cooker. Let it cook for three whistles and your biryani is ready.

  • One-pot dal khichdi:

    Heat some ghee in a pressure cooker. Add some whole spices such as cumin, bay leaves, cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. Once they turn aromatic, add some chopped onions, tomatoes and some ginger garlic paste. Add some salt, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala powder and saute nicely. Then add the raw rice and pulses, add water and close the lid. Cook it on full pressure for about 4 whistles and your dish is done.

  • Club sandwich:

    You can get very creative with this. Get some bread and any filling of your choice. You can get jam, butter, cheese, cold cuts of meat, sliced cucumbers, etc. Assemble all the ingredients and indulge in a tasty treat while lounging out in front of your TV. You can take this to your office for lunch too and get some brownie points for yourself.

  • Red sauce pasta:

    Get some chicken mince, ready-made pasta sauce and some herbs. Keep them aside. Then, boil some pasta and keep it aside. Add the pasta sauce to the wok, along with the chicken and the herbs. Give them a good toss, lower the flame, cover and cook for about 10 minutes till the meat is cooked. Add some water, if needed. Once the sauce is ready, add the boiled pasta and serve. Sprinkle some grated cheese on top for some added flavour.

  • Microwave mug cake:

    If you like all things sweet, you should try the one-minute microwave mug cake. All you need is a spoonful of flour, cocoa, oil and sugar. Give it a good stir in a large coffee mug and pop it in the microwave for just a minute. And in just a minute, you will have a smooth and decadent dessert for yourself.
