Arthritis is a very well-known and extremely debilitating health disorder that primarily affects the joints and muscles. The condition causes inflammation in crucial joints such as knees, back, shoulder, hip, and other important muscles.

While the condition cannot be completely eradicator, we can take certain measures to ensure that you live a healthy life even with arthritis.

Here is a list of the foods and beverages to remove from your diet:

  1. Red meats or processed meats:Red meats of any kind whether it is processed or otherwise have been the primary causes of inflammation and people suffering from arthritis stop them from containing interleukin, homocysteine, and C reactive proteins, which are essentially inflammatory markers.
  2. Items that contain added sugar:People suffering from rheumatoid arthritis have often reported growing pain in the joints after consuming too much Sugary content. Artificial sugar tends to aggravate cases of inflammation.
  3. Alcoholic substances:Alcohol as being known to cause an increased amount of damage to the structural integrity of the spine. Therefore, people suffering from symptoms of arthritis, especially the inflammatory types, should strictly avoid the intake of alcohol as much as possible.
  4. Foods items that are processed:More often than not, processed foods such as baked items, fast foods, breakfast cereals, etc. Then to contain higher amounts of preservatives and sugar. They invoke inflammation in your muscles and joints, thus, worsening the case of arthritis pain.
  5. Items that contain gluten:The adverse effects of consuming gluten are predominantly accepted. Hence, medical practitioners and dieticians always recommend a gluten-free diet for people suffering from arthritis. Research has shown that a lack of gluten reduces the chances of inflammation.
  6. Foods that contain high amounts of salt:Salt tends to contribute to bone destruction and breakdown of cartilage. In a 62-day study with mice, researchers found that those who consumed higher amounts of salt experienced heightened levels of rheumatoid arthritis as compared to those who were on a low-salt diet.

The phenomenon directly correlates with people who suffer from arthritis. The overall point of consuming foods and beverages that are compliant with your condition is to ensure nothing hinders the already-inflamed joints.

It is best to avoid foods such as pizza, certain types of meats and cheeses, specific types of seafood such as shrimp, anchovies, etc., and canned soups and varieties of processed foods.

  7. Specific vegetable oils containing Omega-6 fats:With arthritis, diets that are low in omega-3 fatty acids but contain high amounts of Omega-6 fats can negatively impact the body to a very large extent. Avoid consuming foods that contain vegetable oils rich in Omega-6 fats and increase your regular intake of omega-3 fats instead.
  8. Foods rich in advanced glycation end products:Things are produced by conjugating proteins or fats along with sugar at a molecular level. Often, these agents are present in animal foods that are uncooked or are produced as a result of specific methods of cooking.
