World Tourism Day_

The globally celebrated World Tourism Day was proposed during the third session of the UNWTO General Assembly back in September 1979. World Tourism Day has been observed on the 27th of September of every year, since its initial undertaking back in 1980. The main idea behind it is to spread global awareness regarding the importance of tourism and its significance within culture, society and the economy.

The term “Culture” is a vast term that gives shade to the meaning of institutional and social behaviour, norms, knowledge, arts, customs, habits, and much more, generally attributed to a specific group or region. Both “Tourism” and “Culture” are interconnected and interdependent labels and in this growing era of technology and modernisation, let us have a look at how tourism can revive our culture.

Here’s How Tourism Can Help Revive Our Culture

Tourism is one of the richest, most widely spread, decorated and progress-oriented industries in the whole world. It not only offers new experiences for the travellers but also helps in expanding the perspective of both the tourist and the destination locality. Here’s how tourism will play a vital part in the revival of our culture:

  • Raising Awareness

Active growth and interest in tourism will attract a lot of attention to this sector. This way, both the curious minds and the general population will be able to learn about the importance of the culture and its impact on society. Having a large audience and enthusiastic people associated with this sector will help in spreading awareness about maintaining and promoting cultural sites, crafts, arts, etc. to great potential, beyond any limitation. Furthermore, gaining more interest in this topic will be highly beneficial as it will increase the number of tourists and improve the quality of the local tourism market in various regions.

  • Cultural Expansion

It is not just about showcasing the culture, as it goes further beyond that. The best way to maintain cultural sustainability and growth is to teach others about it and help them adopt the specific style, be that in the aspect of language, dance, songs, lifestyle, etc. This will help cultural growth and promote it globally, alongside tourism. Since its dawn, tourism has helped tremendously to promote and expand new cultures among different masses and territories, and it will keep on doing so for the foreseeable future.

  • Economical Boost

The recent global situation took a massive toll on the whole industry. However, by staying locked up at home for months, the current appeal towards travel, and learning about new cultures has been on the rise. This has resulted in an economical boost in local businesses and the tourism industry, which once again piqued the interest of both the locals, business owners and travellers. The revenue stream has a direct effect on local culture as the funds help in its maintenance and improvement.

Conclusion:

These are some ways through which tourism will be able to help revive our culture. If you are looking for some thrill or interested in learning about new cultures, you too should take a trip and contribute to the cultural growth.
