Besides the feeling of tightness, it can also give rise to soreness and pain in muscles.     Another common reason that may cause your muscles to feel tight is dehydration. Under the state of dehydration, your body lacks the ability to deliver essential components to the muscles, which may result in muscles feeling strained. This is because they have to perform the same task while utilising less fuel. Dehydration can affect different types of muscles in your body, especially the calves. This is why experts recommend building the habit of drinking adequate amounts of water every day, especially when working out.

  4. Injury

    The human body works on auto-pilot and can adapt to certain scenarios on its own. For example, muscles can contract defensively if they feel that a part of the body is at risk of being damaged or injured, which gives rise to the sensation of muscle tightness. Also, in cases of misalignment, muscles can become tight, especially in the lumbopelvic region.
