Skincare tips for summer

Who doesn’t like being outside in the sun? Doesn’t it feel wonderful? Assume you’re at the beach, and the weather isn’t too hot; it’s just right for a lazy day by the cool waters. But there are a lot of bad things going on in the background, and they are happening to your skin. There are some beauty and skincare tips you can use to enjoy the sun while maintaining good skin!

  1. Hydrate yourself- On most days, water is your saviour, but in the summer, it is our saviour every hour. Water keeps you hydrated, energised, and working at your best. It quenches your thirst, regulates your body temperature, keeps you cool at all times, and keeps you healthy. So two to three litres per day will suffice.
  2. Have more fruits and beverages-Most people get tired of drinking water after a while. It becomes monotonous, and some people lose their thirst because it feels like such a chore. However, including beverages and water-based fruits in your diet can help to break up the monotony. This keeps things interesting and provides you with a double benefit- water and the goodness of the fruit! Citrus fruits, watermelons, curd, buttermilk, avocados, cucumbers, bananas, rose milk, lemon juice, green leafy vegetables, sugarcane juice, and coconut water are your go-to’s this summer!
  3. Sunscreen is a must at all times- Sunscreen is the necessary shield for your skin to protect it from damage, sunburn ageing, black spots, discoloration, and even melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer! An SPF of 30 or higher is recommended to ensure healthy skin that is protected from UV rays.
  4. Put less makeup- Less makeup will keep your face from feeling caked up, heavy, and sticky. The worst part about working hard to put on makeup skillfully is that you will sweat it out and melt it away in a few hours. With less makeup, your skin has more opportunities to breathe freely and feel happy.
  5. Self-care Sundays- Make time every Sunday for some much-needed self-care. Your routine should include exfoliation, which prevents pore clogging and, as a result, can make you feel less oily than you could be because your pores are no longer blocked by sebum, dirt, or makeup. After that, apply a soothing antioxidant-rich mask that hydrates your skin. Finish with a moisturiser to leave your skin soft and supple.
  6. Wash up – To keep the heat storm at bay, take a cold shower twice a day. A good shower can be very revitalising, leaving your body feeling refreshed and keeping germs and sticky skin at bay.
  7. Breathable Clothing- Wearing cotton in the summer is fantastic because it absorbs all of your sweat, allows body heat to escape, and quickly cools you down.

These tips do not completely prevent damage, but they do reduce the impact they may have on your skin. All you have to do to ensure happy and glowing skin is to take some well-deserved time out for yourself every day. Your future self will thank you. Happy Summer Skin to you!!
